Welcome to Rosemount Ranikhet » About Rosemount Ranikhet
Built in similar splendour reminds you of an era gone by. Launched as a hotel in the year 1900, the intricate stone facade, louvered balconies, elaborate window arcs and the wrought iron grills have not only preserved the pristine glory in its true form even today go with any Luxury Resort. There are large well appointed rooms with attached baths which are furnished with taste and which offer a fairy tale view of the snow capped Himalayas.
» About Ranikhet Ranikhet, always called as Queen of Uttaranchal, a small cantonment located in the Kumaon, only 55 kms from Nainital. Ranikhet, meaning “Queen’s Meadow” in English is named after Kumaoni Queen, Rani Padmini. It is believed that the Queen fell in love with Ranikhet’s greenery and her husband King, Raja Sukhdev built a grand palace for her.

Located at a height of 1870 meters, Ranikhet is a thickly forested area with beautiful and unobstructed views of the Himalayas. Once proposed to be the Capital of British India, Ranikhet is known for its Colonial Bungalows and Churches which still exist in their original shape and beauty. Ranikhet aspires to emerge as the best cantonment in India. Since it is managed by the army, steps are being taken to make Ranikhet a pollution free, eco friendly and green tourist destination.
